This full-day intensive acting institute has it all, delivering what feels like years of acting and industry experience in a 2 or 3 week course. Geared towards high school students who are serious about acting, the course develops the skills necessary to make it as a professional in the entertainment business. Each session will include lecture, performance time, and workshop experience with entertainment professionals.
Master the audition process, perfect your monologue, polish your resume, and learn about professional theater, TV, and film productions. Actors will use scenes and monologues to create a final performance that will be filmed and can be used for reels and an online presence. Guest speakers may include Casting Directors, Television Producers, Movie Directors, and Talent Agents. The 3 week program also features a field trip to an evening performance at the GEFFEN Theater, including a post-show conversation with the actors.
Created and taught by Wendy Kurtzman and Caroline Liem, 2 Casting Directors with over 35 years of collective experience, this course will give you everything you need to succeed from College to Career. Wendy is an Emmy-nominated casting director that launched Sandra Bullock and Reese Witherspoon’s careers. She casted the blockbuster “Independence Day.” Caroline taught at Juilliard and was the Casting Director for the award winning late night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
